A few millimetres of wash water can hide the surface everyone is waiting to inspect.
Freshly recovered core is often rinsed while it remains arranged in sequence. When water lingers in the channels, fracture textures, veins and subtle colour changes become harder to read until the surface clears.

That makes drainage more than a background detail. In an IndoTray, small round holes in the channel floors give rinse water a direct route through the tray and into the grated bay below.
Water moves around the core, reaches the opening, then drops through the aligned underside outlet It is a small piece of geometry with an immediate operational consequence: the core stays in position while the wash water has somewhere else to go.Good core handling is often shaped by details this quiet.
At the wash bay, water should reveal the geology—not sit on top of it.
