Ongombo–Ongeama: A New Phase of Copper Project Development in Namibia
African Pioneer PLC has announced the commencement of its Ongombo–Ongeama Mine Development Programme in northern Namibia, with an initial drilling plan covering 119 holes and approximately 7,000 metres.

The programme is designed to improve geological understanding and support future mine planning through several key activities:
Testing extensions to the existing Ongombo mineral resource
Investigating up-dip extensions of known mineralised bodies at neighbouring Ongeama
Gathering data to support open-pit and underground mine planning
Supporting geotechnical assessments at both projects
Obtaining additional grade and width information from the East–Ost shoots
Ongombo already hosts a reported 29 Mt at 1.1% CuEq JORC (2012) Mineral Resource Estimate, in which African Pioneer has an 85% interest.
For mineral exploration teams, drilling programmes like this highlight the importance of reliable core recovery, accurate depth and interval records, systematic geological logging, and secure core sample storage. These practices help preserve the information needed to interpret mineralisation and support technical decisions.
Important: The announcement confirms drilling commencement and programme scope; it does not report new assay results. Final assays are expected after drilling and laboratory turnaround.
